Andres Santamaria on what his fitness philosophy is.

What’s your fitness philosophy?

I want to show and teach people how to be healthy and happy. I have learned all this by experience and I want to spread the word. A bit of backstory to put that into context…

When I was 27 I started to have panic and anxiety attacks. I didn’t understand how this could be possible. I was living exactly the way I was supposed to. I had a promising career in a multinational, had all the degrees and languages, a beautiful wife, was doing fitness 3 to 4 times a week, in essence my life was perfect. Doctors were not really helping and I was kind of embarrassed that my mind was acting up and I couldn’t resume my perfect life.

It got bad enough that I was confronted with the fact that the life I thought I wanted was the one responsible for making me feel the way I was feeling.

So I started from scratch, testing out diets, learning about sleep and gut bacteria, about healthy movement and the autonomous nervous system, about breath practices, cold exposure, meditation, etc. I basically took responsibility for my own health and lifestyle.

Looking back, I was misinformed, I just didn’t understand key aspects of how my body and mind work, and my lifestyle strategy was making me sick. Fast forward 9 years until now, today I use a mix of MovNat®, the Wim Hof Method® and Neuro Meditation as the foundation for my lifestyle.
